As an educator with 20 years of experience, I know that our teachers are one of the most critical factors in student success.
From creating a welcoming learning environment to helping students who need a little extra attention, teachers are making it happen every day - in the classroom, on Zoom and all places in between.
And that's why I'm so proud to announce the endorsement of APACE - the Alexandria Political Action Committee for Education! APACE is the political arm of the Education Association of Alexandria, which represents members working in ACPS schools.
I’m extremely grateful for this endorsement and the support of our city's educators.
We know that the next few months and years will be critical to our students because we must close the learning AND social-emotional gaps that have only grown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the School Board, I will work with our teachers, staff and parents to ensure we have a plan that addresses the needs of every student so no one is left behind.
